Returns & Refunds Policy

Returns & Refunds Policy

Last updated: [12.10.2026]

At KillerBrakes, we want online orders to be straightforward and transparent. This policy explains how consumer withdrawals, refunds, incorrect or defective products and related returns are handled. It distinguishes a change-of-mind return from a legal guarantee claim.

1. Who We Are

KillerBrakes.com is operated by KillerBrothers Motorsport SRL, Romania (VAT identification: RO39869301). For returns, withdrawals or product concerns, contact office@killerbrakes.com or use our Contact page.

This policy applies to purchases made through KillerBrakes.com. It should be read together with our Terms & Conditions and Warranty & Brake Installation Guidelines. Nothing in this policy limits mandatory rights under applicable law.

2. Changing Your Mind — Your 14-Day Right of Withdrawal

For eligible distance purchases, a consumer generally has 14 calendar days to withdraw without giving a reason, subject to legal exceptions. For goods, the period normally begins on the day the consumer or a nominated third party (other than the carrier) receives the goods. If goods in one order arrive separately, the period generally starts when the last item is received.

You may notify us of withdrawal at any point before the deadline by making a clear and unambiguous statement. It is enough to send your withdrawal notice before the period ends; we do not need to approve it before your right is exercised.

If a legally applicable longer withdrawal period or other mandatory protection applies, that rule takes precedence.

3. How to Notify Us of Withdrawal

You can notify us by email at office@killerbrakes.com. Include your name, order number, the product(s) concerned and a clear statement that you wish to withdraw. You may also use the optional model withdrawal form at the end of this page.

Online withdrawal: Eligible customers must also be able to use our clearly labelled online withdrawal function. The function must allow you to identify the order and confirm the withdrawal, after which an acknowledgement, including the date and time of submission, is sent to the electronic address provided.

Important: An internal return authorization or RMA number may help us process a parcel, but it is not a condition for exercising your statutory withdrawal right. Simply refusing a delivery or not collecting a parcel should not be relied on as a substitute for a clear withdrawal notice.

4. Sending Goods Back

Unless we agree to collect the goods, return them without undue delay and within 14 calendar days after informing us of your withdrawal. You meet this deadline if you dispatch the goods before it expires.

Pack the items carefully to prevent transport damage, and include your order number or a note identifying the return. Where available, use protective packaging and retain proof of dispatch. Original packaging is helpful but is not automatically a condition of statutory withdrawal.

Return destination: Please request our current verified return-shipping address from office@killerbrakes.com before dispatch. [Street Elev Nicolae Popovici nr 27 Bucharest Romania zip 051769]

For an eligible change-of-mind return, the consumer pays the direct cost of returning the goods where we disclosed this obligation before purchase and have not agreed to cover that cost. Where mandatory law requires us to bear a return cost, we will do so.

5. Refund Amount, Method and Timing

Following a valid withdrawal, we reimburse the payments required by law, including the cost of the least expensive standard outbound delivery option offered for the relevant order, where applicable. If you chose a more expensive delivery service, we do not have to reimburse the optional additional amount.

We issue reimbursement without undue delay and, in principle, no later than 14 days after being informed of the withdrawal. Unless we have offered to collect the goods, the law permits us to withhold reimbursement until we receive the returned goods or evidence that you have sent them, whichever is earlier.

We normally refund using the same payment method as the original transaction unless you expressly agree otherwise and incur no fees from that alternative. We do not automatically deduct PayPal fees, bank-card processing fees or a blanket restocking/handling charge from a statutory withdrawal refund.

For a partial withdrawal, the reimbursement of delivery charges depends on the order structure and applicable law; any adjustment will be explained.

6. Inspecting Products and Loss in Value

You may inspect and handle the goods to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning, similarly to what would reasonably be possible in a physical shop.

If goods have been handled beyond what is necessary, the consumer may be responsible for a lawfully assessed reduction in value supported by the circumstances. This is not an automatic fixed-percentage charge.

Mounted or test-used brake components, damaged packaging, removed seals, paint, grease or other alterations may be relevant to evaluating any diminution in value. These circumstances do not, by themselves, justify a blanket refusal of every statutory withdrawal. If we failed to provide the legally required withdrawal information, the statutory rules on consumer liability for diminished value apply.

7. Custom Calipers, Personalised Parts and Special Orders

The statutory withdrawal exception may apply to goods made to the consumer’s specifications or clearly personalised, such as certain bespoke finishes, colours or logos selected specifically for a customer, where the legal conditions are met.

Merely describing a part as “special order”, “backorder”, “made to order”, or sourcing it from a supplier does not automatically remove the withdrawal right. Where an exception applies, we aim to explain it before the order is confirmed.

Your rights concerning goods that are incorrect, faulty or otherwise nonconforming remain unaffected.

8. ECU/TCU Software, Digital Licences and Installation Services

Selected RacingLine OEM+ products and other offers may contain digital software, activation licences or installation services. The statutory withdrawal regime and exceptions depend on whether the transaction concerns physical goods, digital content not supplied on a physical medium, or a service.

For digital content not supplied on a tangible medium, loss of the withdrawal right is subject to the applicable requirements, including express prior consent to begin supply during the withdrawal period, express acknowledgement of the resulting loss of the right, and the required contractual confirmation. Accepting our general Terms & Conditions alone is not sufficient.

For services, separate statutory conditions may apply, including the conditions relating to performance during the withdrawal period. Any mandatory digital-content or service conformity rights continue to apply.

9. Wrong, Damaged or Nonconforming Products

If you receive the wrong item, find damage on delivery or believe a part is defective, contact office@killerbrakes.com with your order number, product details, photos or other evidence available to you. Reporting promptly helps us resolve issues, but an immediate courier damage report is not automatically a prerequisite for statutory rights.

Do not install or continue using a braking component that may be unsafe. Stop using the vehicle if braking performance or structural integrity is affected, and arrange professional inspection.

If the goods are nonconforming, the applicable legal remedies may include repair, replacement, price reduction or termination of the contract, according to statutory conditions. These rights are separate from the 14-day change-of-mind withdrawal right. Where required by law, qualifying remedies are provided at no cost, including necessary transport and removal/reinstallation costs for properly installed goods.

For the technical warranty claim process, see our Warranty & Brake Installation Guidelines. The absence of original packaging, an RMA number or an installation invoice does not automatically remove statutory conformity rights.

10. Brake Fitment and Installation

Brake-kit compatibility depends on the exact vehicle and equipment, including model generation, existing brakes, wheel width and diameter, offset (ET), spoke design and caliper clearance. Wheel diameter alone does not establish clearance.

Contact us before fitting if a component appears incorrect. Do not machine or modify safety-critical parts to force compatibility. Professional installation and verification are strongly recommended.

Fitment concerns are assessed in light of the product description, information provided before purchase and applicable conformity rules. Installation alone does not automatically eliminate either a valid statutory withdrawal claim or rights concerning unrelated nonconformities.

11. Refused, Uncollected and Return-to-Sender Parcels

If delivery is refused, uncollected or returned because of an incorrect address, customs issue or other delivery problem, please contact us so we can determine the appropriate next steps.

A refused or uncollected parcel is not necessarily a clear exercise of the statutory withdrawal right. Refunds, redelivery costs and any proven additional expenses are assessed according to the facts, the agreed terms and applicable mandatory consumer law.

We do not automatically retain all outbound shipping, card-processing fees or fixed handling charges where statutory withdrawal or conformity rights require a different result.

12. Orders Outside Romania and Business Purchases

For consumers in other countries, mandatory protections applicable to the transaction may override contractual wording. Outside-EU shipments may involve customs fees and import taxes; refunds of charges paid directly to customs authorities or carriers may need to be requested from those organisations.

Business-to-business orders may be subject to separate agreed cancellation and return conditions. Mandatory rights under applicable law remain unaffected.

13. Frequently Asked Questions

Can I return a brake kit after opening the box? Opening packaging does not automatically cancel a statutory withdrawal right. Any handling beyond what is necessary may be assessed under the legal diminished-value rules.

Can I return discs or calipers after fitting them? Installation does not create a universal ban on withdrawal; additional handling may reduce their value. If a product is nonconforming, separate statutory remedies apply.

Do I need a return authorisation? You do not need one to exercise a statutory withdrawal right. Contacting us first helps ensure the parcel reaches the correct return address.

What if I received the wrong product? Contact us for a conformity assessment and appropriate remedy. This is not merely a change-of-mind return.

What about track-use parts? Intended use, product characteristics and the actual cause of any reported damage are relevant; track use does not automatically remove unrelated statutory rights.
