VAT & International Taxes
VAT international taxes can affect the final price of brake kits and automotive parts delivered across borders. Learn how KillerBrakes applies EU OSS destination-based VAT, handles non-EU exports, and explains possible customs duties before checkout.

01. VAT international taxes and price calculation
Our catalogue prices are entered into WooCommerce including Romanian VAT. For eligible business-to-consumer distance sales delivered within the European Union, we calculate VAT using the applicable destination-country rate through the EU One Stop Shop (OSS) scheme. As a result, the VAT-inclusive product price may change when you choose a different delivery country.
Where your delivery country has not been confirmed, the price shown may reflect the currently selected or estimated destination. The applicable taxes and total amount payable are presented before you place your order.
Illustrative example: A product entered at €1,210 including 21% Romanian VAT has a net price of €1,000. If eligible for 19% German VAT, its VAT-inclusive product price is €1,190. Shipping is not included in this example.
02. EU consumer orders
For eligible consumer distance sales within the EU, the applicable VAT rate is determined by the delivery destination and the tax treatment of the product. VAT is calculated using our configured tax rules and shown in the order summary. Shipping costs, if applicable, are displayed separately before order confirmation.
The VAT rate may differ between EU countries even for the same product. For example, standard VAT rates in Germany and Romania differ, so the gross price can change while the underlying net product price remains the same. The delivery destination selected while browsing is an estimate until the shipping address is confirmed at checkout.
03. Business orders and VAT numbers
Qualifying intra-Community supplies to VAT-registered businesses may receive different VAT treatment where all legal conditions are satisfied. Providing a VAT number does not automatically establish eligibility for VAT exemption. Please contact us before placing an order if you require business VAT treatment or particular invoicing details.
Business purchases require additional checks, including the validity of the VAT registration, the location of the buyer and seller, and evidence that goods are transported between Member States. Where VAT exemption is not available, applicable VAT will be charged. Business customers should provide their invoicing details before the order is finalized.
04. International deliveries outside the EU
Goods exported outside the European Union may qualify for zero-rated EU VAT when the relevant export conditions and documentation requirements are met.
KillerBrakes does not generally collect foreign import VAT or customs duties unless the checkout expressly states that these charges are included. Customers should allow for possible carrier handling or brokerage fees. Any estimated customs information is informational only and does not replace the assessment made by the destination customs authority.
International delivery — excluding EU VAT
Prices exclude EU VAT where export zero-rating applies. Import duties, local taxes and customs clearance fees may apply and are the customer’s responsibility unless otherwise stated at checkout.
Charges may be collected by customs authorities or the delivery carrier before delivery.
Import rules vary by country and sometimes by product or shipment value. Please check applicable local requirements before ordering.
05. Delivery country and checkout totals
Where available, our product-page country selector helps estimate the applicable VAT-inclusive price for your intended delivery destination. The confirmed shipping address at checkout determines the final tax calculation, subject to the applicable transaction rules.
If you change the delivery country during checkout, the product VAT amount and order total may be recalculated. Please review the updated amount before placing your order. Shipping prices can also change according to destination, parcel dimensions and delivery method.
Before you submit your order, the checkout displays the product total, applicable VAT, shipping charges and the final amount payable. For non-EU shipments, destination-country import charges may be payable separately unless expressly included or prepaid under the delivery terms.
06. Currency conversion
Prices may be displayed in different currencies for shopping convenience. Currency selection does not determine VAT treatment; this depends on the transaction and destination. The final payment currency and checkout amount are displayed before purchase. Your payment provider may apply its own exchange rate or fees.
A change of display currency should not be confused with a change in VAT rate. For instance, selecting euros or another available currency does not itself alter the country where the goods are delivered. Always check the final checkout summary for the amount and currency to be charged.
