Choosing DBA discs and pads
For normal street use, DBA Street Series discs and SS pads are a practical starting point. If your car sees fast-road driving, Street Series T2 paired with Street Performance SP pads offers a road-focused upgrade. For repeated high-load braking, compare the high-carbon, single-piece 4000 T3 and two-piece 5000 T3 rotors, usually paired with XP pads where application data supports the combination.
4000 versus 5000: 4000 is a high-carbon, heat-treated single-piece rotor platform. 5000 builds on that engineering with a separate high-carbon friction ring and lightweight aluminium hat. The two-piece design offers ring replacement and can lower unsprung mass for supported applications.
Drilled rotor caution: 4000 XS Gold/XD and 5000 XD are not the default choice for track or heavy off-road use. DBA explicitly advises against XD track use and drilled 4000 rotors for demanding track/off-road duty. Choose by intended duty, not appearance.

DBA 4000 T3 vs 5000 T3: what's the difference?
4000 T3 uses a single high-carbon iron rotor with T3 slots. 5000 T3 is a serviceable two-piece design with a separate cast-iron ring and lightweight aluminium hat. Vehicle-specific availability and permitted use vary.
DBA Street Performance (SP) vs Xtreme Performance (XP)?
SP prioritizes improved road response, while XP is designed for higher bite and more demanding conditions such as heavy towing or club track days. Match pads and rotors by official part number and your exact braking duty.
What are DBA Race Performance RP pads designed for?
RP is DBA's carbon-metallic racing pad family intended for high-temperature circuit applications, including sprints and motorsport. They are not intended for ordinary public-road driving. Verify the vehicle-specific part number, rotor match, bedding-in procedure and motorsport regulations before use.
Do T2 and T3 slotted rotors use the same part-number suffix?
On the official European site, Street Series T2 and 4000/5000 Series T3 are all documented with S suffixes. Use the complete DBA SKU and series prefix to identify the product, not the S alone.
Does every 4000 rotor have Kangaroo Paw and heat paint?
Not necessarily. DBA states that not every product/variant incorporates every technology. Verify the exact SKU, rotor size and vent design.
